About Wellness

“I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”
-John 10:10

Here are some of the foundational elements of wellness at Edgewood Community Center.

1. Wellness is holistic.  At Edgewood Community Center we recognize you as a whole person and we are willing to provide programs for your mind, body, and spirit.  Just picking one dimension of wellness and minimizing the others won’t work in the long run.

2. Self-esteem is the critical factor in change. God’s Word says that you and I are precious, created in our mother’s womb by His own hand.  (Psalm 139:13) We are valuable and have a purpose on this earth.  Wellness is caring enough about yourself to take inventory of your life, initiating the necessary changes and finding the support to maintain your motivation. Through friendship, wellness programming, and personal trainers we know you will get through the roadblocks and experience the joy of victory at Edgewood Community Center.

3. Keep positive relationships. We all need mutually beneficial relationships with friends, family and colleagues who care about us as people.  Relationships, interaction, and connecting are important concepts to the Edgewood Community Center.  In fact, the definition of community is: a group where intent, belief, resources, preferences, and needs create an identity or culture.  We’re hopeful that the culture at Edgewood Community Center is one that reinforces positivity in your life.
